Tryout Information
2/11/2009
Tryouts and associated clinics for the 2009-
2010 season will be held the week of February 16th at
Linn Mar High School. Specific times/locations for
the practices and tryouts are noted below.
Monday, February 16h - Tryout Clinic - 4:00 - 6:00
p.m. - HS Aux Gym
Wednesday, February 18h - Tryout Clinic - 4:00 - 6:00
p.m. - HS Aux Gym
Thursday, February 19th - Tryout Clinic - 4:00 - 6:00
p.m. - HS Aux Gym
Friday, February 20th - Tryouts - 5:30 p.m. - HS Aux
Gym
Tryouts will be closed to general public. Results
for both the Varsity and JV Squad will be posted on
this site no earlier than 11:00 p.m. on Friday,
February 20th. Squad lists will not be posted on
Door 13, so please plan to check this site for
results.
Questions concerning the tryout results should be
directed to the Athletic Office on Monday, February
23rd.
Finally, there will be a mandatory meeting on February 23rd for both squads. Both squads will meet in the lower room by Door #13 at 6:00 p.m. - see signs for specific direction. A parent is required to attend meeting with squad member.

Top Five Finish at Nationals!

Congratulations to the squad for landing a top five and top ten finish at the UDA National Dance Competition! For the first time in squad history, the squad earned a top five finish at Nationals, placing 3rd with their pom routine along with a very impressive 6th place showing with their jazz routine! Complete results along with photos and videos of the performances may be found at the link below. Also, within the next week, a comprehensive set of photos from the competition will be added to the "Pictures" section of this site. Congratulations to the squad on these outstanding results - the perfect cap to this remarkable, history-making season!

National Dance Team Championship Information & 2009-2010 Season Tryout Updates

Be sure to check the "Schedule" section on the left hand side of the site for information about the UDA National Dance Team Championship in Orlando on 1/31 and 2/1. Throughout the competition, photos and video of the performances may be found at the link below. Preview Night for this competition will be held at the Linn Mar High School Main Gym on Wednesday, January 28th at 6:30 p.m. The squad will be presenting both the jazz and pom routines that will be performed at the Nationals competition. Also, an informational meeting for anyone interested in participating in tryouts for the 2009-2010 season will be held on Monday, Feb 9th at 6:00 p.m. in the Little Theatre at the High School. This meeting is mandatory for all tryout participants. Finally, tryout dates for 2009-2010 season have been modified slightly, so please check the "Schedule" section on this site for the latest updates.

Poms Earn Clean Sweep!

On Friday, December 5th, the squad traveled to Des
Moines for the annual ISDTA competition. Under very
tough cometition, the squad placed 1st in their Pom,
Jazz and Hip Hop routines - a feat unmatched in squad
history! Also, for the third consecutive year, the
squad was awarded one of the distinguished Judge's
Choice Award for their Jazz routine. This award is
only given to three routines each year and was
selected from the over 200 routines that were
performed that day!
Congratulations, girls, on an outstanding showing!

Linn Mar Participants Impressive at 2009 State Solo Competition!

Five members of the squad participated in the state dance solo competition on November 1st in Pella, IA. Under very tough and heavy competition, Linn Mar had one of its most impressive showings yet, with three girls placing in the top ten! (Follow link below for complete results from ISDTA.) Fall Clinic to Be Held October 17 and 18th

The squad will be hosting its annual fall dance clinic on
October 17th & 18th. Clinic and related performance will be held at the Linn Mar HG Gym and specific times are noted below:
Friday October 17th - 5:30 p.m. -8:30 p.m. (Clinic)
Saturday, Oct 18th 9:00 a.m. -noon (Clinic)
Saturday, October 18th - 6:00 p.m.(Performance)

Poms Bring Home First Place Honors at Westdale!

Congratulations to the squad on their first place finish in the Large School Poms division at the annual Westdale Spirit Competition at Westdale Mall on August 23rd! The squad also brought home the Best Choreography Award.
Congratulations to the JV Squad as well who also placed first in their division!

Poms Land Another 1st Place at Elite Camp!

For the fourth consecutive year, the squad attended the UDA Elite Camp in Bloomington, Illinois. This camp, held June 29th through July 2nd, drew many top squads throughout the Midwest. During the camp, the squads competed with a home routine. Once again this year, the girls had a spectacular showing, bringing home four trophies and, for the second year running, placed 1st in the large group category. The stage has been set for a very exciting year! Great job, girls!! Photos from the camp will be added soon, so please check back frequently for photo updates by clicking on the "link" below.

Squad to Host Fall Dance Clinic on October 17th and 18th

Once again this year, the squad will be hosting its
Fall dance clinic on October 17th and 18th at the High School with clinic routines to be performed at 6:00 p.m in the high school gym. If you did not receive a clinic flyer through your school and are interested in participating, please contact the coach via email at schmidt111@mchsi.com with the information below and you will be contacted to confirm your registration.
Friday- 5:30pm-8:30pm, Saturday 9am-noon with performance Saturday at the Linn-Mar High School at 6pm Main Gym.
